A Southern Belle knows…

Article Posted on Thursday, December 2nd, 2010 at 3:48 pm

…one of the most important tasks during the holiday season is to remember your friends! This is easily done with a personally written note inside a beautiful holiday card–forget those long, typed generic-form Christmas letters. The only one interested in how many teeth little Buddy lost this year is you (and maybe your mother). Boxed cards from Target will do, but a true Southern Belle knows buying cards from a favorite artist or stationer is the preferred method. While you’re at it, be sure to pick up some personalized stationery to send out those thank you notes at the end of the year! I was going to make our cards this year (also an acceptable method) but things have just gotten so busy that I’ve been looking at these *lovely* cards created by Anna Bond of Rifle Paper Co. She’s one of my very favorite illustrators, and I think it’s really important when choosing things like stationery, things that will go out into the world and give people a little feel for who you are, to choose an illustrator or designer that you love.

Incidentally, I may have to get some terrier cards for our thank you notes… I’m sure people would much rather get an illustrated Dexter Gordon at the top of their note than an illustrated me! Aren’t they cute?

Be sure to visit the Rifle Paper Co. online shopblog, & twitter.
