*Secrets of a Belle* is a lifestyle blog devoted to living a modern life full of all the style, beauty and charm a true Southern Belle appreciates. Not every Belle is from the South (although it certainly doesn’t hurt!), but there are a few things every belle holds dear to their heart. Here are just a few examples to get you started…

1.) We value hospitality. We greet each guest with a drink & a smile, and spend evenings (Spring thru Fall, of course!) out on our front porch just waiting for someone to stop by!

2.) We know just enough about everything to put in our 2 cents and are never afraid to speak our mind. This sometimes gets us into trouble, but we’ll never admit it!

3.) We believe there’s no sickness red lipstick and a little mascara can’t cure!

4.) However, if worse comes to worst, we pour a glass of bourbon and pop in Gone with the Wind.

5.) We are a chaste to a t, but we know that a little flirting (and, of course, that accent!) can get you anywhere.

6.) We know the best accessory for any outfit is a smile– although pearls never hurt!

7.) We don’t lose our cool… if you can survive a family reunion when it’s 105 outside and still manage to get a delicious spread on the table, you can do anything. For everything else see #4.

8.) We know true style is about confidence and taking chances.

9.) However, we make the effort to always be the best dressed lady in the room.

10.) We take the best parts of the past and make them work every day.
